Vertical is a collaboration between multi-disciplinary artist Tony Lugo and saxophonist Mats Gustafsson. Lugo’s desiccated electronics complement Gustafsson’s free jazz squalling brilliantly. The album was recorded remotely between Baltimore and Austria in the spring of 2021 and released by Italian label Superpang. The album features 10 tracks and is recommended for fans of Peter Brötzmann.
